About Alonso Vidal

Alonso Vidal is a Peruvian multimedia journalist, documentalist, writer, and photographer based in Chicago, IL. A recent DePaul University alumnus, graduated with a BFA in Film and Television with a Screenwriting concentration. Bilingual and deeply connected to his Latinx heritage, Alonso immerses himself in the communities around him, independently uncovering compelling stories. 
 
His work, featured in NBC, Telemundo,  La DePaulia, and Illinois Latino News, focuses on culture, identity, and social issues, often spotlighting underrepresented communities. From covering Venezuelan protests in Chicago to documenting the lives of athletes in local boxing gyms, Alonso's multimedia storytelling approach ensures his narratives resonate deeply with audiences.
 
He also offers freelance services and is actively seeking new projects that align with his passion for impactful storytelling.
